INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR COMMUNICATION AND DEVELOPMENT (IICD) PROJECT

RESOURCE CENTRE FOR NURSES PROJECT
Zambia Union of Nurses Organization is implementing the ICT project with funding from the International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD). The main objective of the project is significantly improving communication through internet connectivity and improved capturing and management of membership records.
Funding for this project came to an end in September 2009 but the partnership with IICD will continue up to 3 years.
A. Project Sites
The project is being implemented in three provinces namely;
1. Lusaka has the Provincial Resource Centre situated at the Chainama Hospital and Head Office Resource Centre situated at the old Kabwata Office
2. Copperbelt province thier Provincial Resource centre at Ndola Central Hospital
3. Western Provincial Resource Centre at Lewanika General Hospital
The vision of ZUNO is to expand this service in all the provinces.
B. ZUNO Online Membership management platform (ZOOMP)
ZOOMP is an online membership management platform targeting the enhancement of the current process for membership application as well as internal membership management. This is the last activity under the IICD project. ZUNO has signed a contract with XGENIT through IICD for the designing of the ZOOMP.
This system will allow nurses apply for membership online while initially maintaining the old system.
