The Zambia Union of Nurses Organization (ZUNO) is a professional Organisation and a trade union for all eligible categories of Nurses registered or enrolled with the General Nursing Council of Zambia, as defined by the Nurses and Midwives Act, No. 31 of 1997, regardless of where they may be employed, including Students, Associate and Honorary members.

The main activities of our professional trade union will include collective bargaining and negotiations, lobbying and advocacy for professionalism, safe work environment and socio-economic justice for its members (nurses and midwives). The ultimate goal of this approach is to strengthen nursing and midwifery practice nation wide and contribute to the government’s effort at strengthening and promoting quality health care systems that can guarantee patient safety.
